map of western afreeq

This is the main campaign map. I created this using the free photo editing tool GIMP 2, which has quite a steep learning curve but saved me some hundreds of pounds compared to Photoshop. I used some nice freeware brushes and fonts when drawing the map supplied by the very talented people below

Sketchy Cartography Brushes by Star Raven

Palm Tree Brushes by PinkonHead

Wizzta font by Adien Gunarta

Click on the map to see it in full. I designed it to print on A3 but still be readable on A4. I’ve recently discovered how to do a hex overlay so may post a version up in the future.

Unless you’ve drawn the map to suit hexes from the start I’d avoid them if possible. They won’t fit quite satisfactorily. Unless you need something to make PBM movement etc… easy i’d stick with hand measuring distances as needed or even just using the map as a guide for where you want the action to happen.

yes you are right Paul, when I overlayed the hex grid it didn’t look right at all. I just felt rather pleased that I had worked out how to do it!
